"Gerrie" Kirouac Lake Almanor Peninsula resident Geraldine Adelaide "Gerrie" Kirouac passed from this life peacefully Thursday evening Dec. 29, 2011, at Seneca Healthcare District Hospital in Chester. Born in Detroit, Mich., to Frank and Rose (Anderson) Reiman Dec. 15, 1918, she was raised and educated in De- troit, graduating from Nativi- ty of Our Lord High School as a member of the class of 1936. On Feb. 6, 1937, Gerrie -- as she affectionately became known -- married her hand- some neighbor friend Rene J. Kirouac in Detroit, Mich., and to this holy union three daughters and a son were born. The family moved west to settle in Southern Califor- nia in 1960. A devoted wife and mother, Gerrie's professional career as an LVN began at Holy Cross Hospital in Granada Hills in 1963 -- a career that spanned some 17 years, A devout member of the Ro- man Catholic Church, Gerrie was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Parish (now at Lake Almanor) where she was a longtime member of the Altar Society. While resid- ing in Southern California, she was an active member of the Emblem Club. An accom- plished artist, she enjoyed painting portraits in oil. In passing, Gerrie leaves her daughters, Patricia Ann Wise, of Clinton Township, Mich., and Laurie K. Kirouac- Merrifield, of Lake Almanor; 10 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; four great- great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Gruse, of War- ren, Mich., all so precious to her. She joins her husband, Rene; son, Lawrence; daugh- ter, Suzanne Popham; broth- ers, Charles and Art Reiman; and sister, Alice Wright, in their eternal home. A Memorial Mass was held for the repose of her soul Jan. 7, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. Interment was scheduled to take place in the Chester District Cemetery at a later date. Linda Rose Lincoln Linda Rose Lincoln (nee Svetz), was born June 9, 1948, in San Francisco. She passed away Jan. 7, 2012, in Quincy, at the age of 63. Linda is survived by her sons, Abe Lincoln and Ryan E. Lincoln; her sister Eliza- beth Pini; her brothers, Fred Svetz and William P. Svetz; six nieces; two nephews; and seven grandchildren. Linda was a devoted moth- er, a successful business- woman, an artist and an ex- cellent cbok. She loved music, singing, dancing and enjoying the speqial moments of life with the ones she loved. Lin- da struggled for many years with mental illness and later with cancer. She had great gratitude for her family and those that supported and cared for her. She will be missed greatly by all that knew her. Linda is now at peace and for this we should all be grate- ful. She is free to dance, sing and love in our memories for- ever. "Pat" Hatch With family at her Side, Greenville resident Patricia Claire "Pat" Hatch passed from this life peacefully un- der the compassionate care of those at Oroville's Shadow- brook Health Care Sunday evening, Jan. 8, 2012. Born in Benicia Aug. 8, 1926, to former Michigan resi- dents Thomas and Clara (Pelky) Costa, she spent her early years in Benicia before moving to Oroville. In the early '40s, Pat, as she affectionately became known, moved to Plumas County where she met Kenneth Pierce. The couple was later married and to this union one son was born. FoLlowing her divorce from Kenneth, Pat lat- er (while attending a dance in Taylorsville) met a handsome young gentleman who quickly became the love of her life: James B. Hatch. Pat and Jim were united in matrimony in. Reno, Nev., July 9, 1946, and to this blessed union two daughters were born. Pat, along with her husband Jim, became actively involved with the Order of Eastern Star Sincerity Chapter 53 of Greenville as well as the former Rebekah Lodge of Greenville. She served the Star as Worthy Matron a number of times as well as leading the Rebekahs. Pat was there to help the youth of the community through her association with the Job's Daughters and Theta-Roe. She also served as a Brownie leader for a few years when her girls were young. Later in life she could be found hand-in-hand with her husband helping to host the Shriner's Hillbilly Clan gatherings at their home in Greenville. Pat was talented in arts, crafts, music and sewing. She enjoyed playing the piano, keyboard and accordion and will be remembered for the beautiful table decorations she made for her lodge func- tions. She also enjoyed the outdoors through camping, fishing and hunting. In passing, Pat leaves her daughters, Sherry Long and her husband Daryl, of Paler- mo, and Jenny West and her husband Jim, of Lake A1- manor; grandchildren Kim, Jennifer, Dwayne, Shereen, Sabreena, Kevin, Renee, Niel and Becky; 14 great-grandchil- dren; and her dear sister, Katie Moffitt, of Durham. She joins in her eternal home her best friend and love of her life, her late husband Jim; son, Michael Kenneth Pierce; sisters Eve Adams and Marie Lynch; and her dear partner in crime, Lu Lu. Graveside services took place Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Greenville District Cemetery's Masonic Section. A reception along with Lodge services fol- lowed at the Greenville Ma- sonic Lodge.
