Mines regularly tested ore samples.from all of their shafts and mining locations. Fire assaying is an ancient process, dating back to the times of Troy in 2600 BC. The Mohawk stamp mill (top right) is the hallmark of Plumas Eureka State Park. It was constructed in 1878, as a 40-stamp mill, but another 20-stamps were added in 1880, bringing the total to 60.
