On Dec. 4, Will from Sparks was fishing at Turkey Point and caught four beautiful trout using rainbow glitter powerbait. Three of the rainbows averaged 1-1/2 lbs while the other rainbow was 3-1/2 lbs. Brought to you by: Dr. Gregory Sawyer, DDS THE TOOTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TOOTH Winter time tooth sensitivity: Now that we're officially into winter, I'm seeing an increased number of complaints regarding cold air tooth sensitivity..While healthy teeth certainly have the ability to feel a cold stimulus, sometimes cold sensitivity can indicate a serious condition requiring treatment. I'm going to give you some insider information so you can self-diagnose your cold sensitivity. The most common types of cold stimulus are: breathing cold air, contact with cold liquids, or cold foods such as ice cream. Generally speaking, any individual tooth should not be more sensitive than any other tooth in your mouth. If this is the case, however, the way to diagnose the tooth isto expose the tooth to something very cold like ice water for just a moment. Spit out the water and let the tooth warm up to mouth temperature. Count the number of seconds that the tooth feels the cold sensation. If it is responding as very cold sensitive and the feeling lasts less than ten seconds or so it is not likely to be a serious problem. It might just be a cavity or an exposed root surface. If the cold stimulus causes a lingering cold pain lasting greater than ten seconds, or a toothache, it may need a root canal treatment. Either way you should see your dentist as soon as possible.
